Portuguese style egg tart Pasteis de Nata
Ingredients
For 6 people:
Granulated sugar, 4,40oz (125g)
Puff pastry
Milk, 8,45fl oz (250ml)
3 eggs
flour, 0,63oz (18g)
Salt
Lemon
1 vanilla pod
Recipe
In a saucepan, pour the milk and add the vanilla pod split into 2. Cook.
In a bowl, add the sugar, flour and a pinch of salt. Mix.
When the milk is boiling, remove the pan from the heat and remove the vanilla pod by removing its small seeds to put them in the milk.
Pour the milk into the bowl with the sugar, salt and flour. Mix.
Add 2 egg yolks and 1 whole egg, and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix.
Spread the puff pastry in small Pastéis de Nata moulds and pour the dough into each mould.
Cook at about 400°F for about 10 minutes
